Garden flat extension - South London
This ground floor flat in Lambeth underwent full renovation – in addition, a flat roof extension was proposed to substantially increase the living space and allow for an additional bedroom to be added. Negotiation was required with the local council, and planning was granted. The extension is finished externally with London yellow stock bricks to match the original building. Full width bi-fold doors allow the new space to flow with the courtyard
“We’ve worked with Ben on two London property projects after he successfully completed an extension planning project for a close family member in Bristol, UK.
Initially Ben developed the design for a single story side and rear of a Victorian terrace garden flat (converting from a 1 bed to 2 bed property) and winning planning for what was at the time the largest extension which had gained approval on our road in Clapham, south london. The project was successfully completed and led to a stunning outcome.
Four years later we re-engaged ben for design and planning support of internal remodelling and side return extension in the ground floor of a six bedroom Victorian terrace in West Dulwich, south London, creating an amazing open plan kitchen/lounge.
Ben is extremely knowledgeable on key areas of architectural design and successfully taking projects through local planning processes end to end. He offers detailed and insightful judgements and recommendations to optimise designs and opine on areas more likely to gain planning approvals. He is friendly, easy to work with and highly capable; his design drawings are accurate and he generously goes above and beyond to offer his time to discuss all aspects of design/build/materials and regulatory considerations – I’d have no hesitation recommending him for any architectural project and look forward to working with him again in the future.”
